When I was a kid and first time saw a smartphone (Android/Apple/blackberry) in someone’s hand, I start wondering what a wonderful device it is, then I was curious to know about Smartphone History,  questions start popping in my head like

  • “When was the first smartphone made”?
  • “Which was the first touchscreen smartphone?
  •   Which was “the first android phone?
  •   Why was the smartphone invented?
  •  Who came first “Apple or Samsung“?
  •  Who came first “Apple or Android”?
  •  Which Was the first iPhone?
  • Who invented the smartphone and in which year.

Then I did some research to find the answer to this question.

Below I am writing the information I collected for my readers.

When was the first smartphone made?

Rob Stothard/Getty People didn’t start using the term “smartphone” until 1995, but the first true smartphone actually made its debut three years earlier in 1992. It was called the Simon Personal Communicator, and it was created by IBM more than 15 years before Apple released the iPhone.

First Android Smartphone (Smartphone History)

The first commercially available smartphone running Android was the “HTC Dream”, also known as T-Mobile G1, announced on September 23, 2008.

 

Why was the smartphone invented?

The “first smartphone” was invented in 1992, 25 years ago. Created by IBM, the Simon Personal Communicator was truly a revolution. It was the first phone to combine the functions of a cell phone, i.e you could make calls, and a PDA, which back then was a handheld device you could use for emails and send faxes.

 

 

Who came first Apple or Samsung?

BlackBerry, Danger, NokiaSony-Ericsson, Samsung etc. were all making smartphones before Apple was. The first iPhone was released on June 29, 2007. The first Android smartphone, the HTC Dream, was released on October 22, 2008. The first Samsung smartphone was the SPH-1300, released in October of 2001.

Which came first apple or android?

Apparently, Android OS did come before iOS or iPhone, but it wasn’t called that and was in its rudimentary form. Furthermore, the first true Android device, the HTC Dream (G1), came almost one year after the release of the “iPhone”.

Which was the first iPhone?

Steve Jobs announced that the first iPhone would be released later that year. On June 29, 2007, the first iPhone was released. On June 11, 2007, Apple announced at the Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference that the iPhone would support third-party applications using the Safari engine.
